Reviews with Rob (Travis vs Ridge Point 1/14/20

This game was chosen by yours truly and for good reason. It pitted the Travis Tigers
(20-5) against the surprisingly steady Ridge Point Panthers (16-8). In the first quarter the game plan was evident, slow down red hot Travis c/o 2020 unsigned senior Justin Hill at all cost. With c/o 2020 guards Clay Baldwin and Elijah Thomas putting in most of the defensive effort, Ridge Point kept
the game close after 1 16-14. The 2nd quarter would see Hill’s back court mate c/o 2021 Mekhi McIntyre step up. Big perimeter shots by he and c/o 2022 Cameron Crockett would soften the Panther’s defense. C/o 2021 Cameron Oliver would also give Travis good minutes off the bench. He provided instant offense and a jolt of energy to help Travis lead at the half 28-27.

In the second half c/o 2021 Kolby Granger tried to carry the Panthers to a win. He scored in the paint on a variety of finishes on his way to 18 big points. As the old saying goes,”You can’t stop the sun from shining”, well you can’t stop Justin Hill from scoring either. He absolutely took over down the stretch, getting to the paint, causing havoc and scoring from the free throw line. It’s refreshing to see the
maturation in his game. He finished with 22 points, 8 rebs, 4 assists and the win as Travis
triumphed 72 -66. Mekhi McIntyre finished with 15point and 4 rebs, Cameron Crockett
finished with 13 points. For Ridge Point Elijah Thomas finished with 11 points and 6 assists,
Clay Baldwin contributed 9points and 4 steals.
