Texas Has A New #1

Houston, TX – With Tre Johnson announcing last week that he will be leaving Lake Highlands & enrolling in national powerhouse Link Academy next fall, Robert Miller III (Pasadena Memorial HS) will emerge as the new #1 player in Texas in the class of 2024. Playing for TJ Ford Academy this spring & summer, his dominating performances has caught the eye of several high major programs, including Texas, LSU, Oklahoma, TCU, Alabama, & more.

TJ Ford Academy head coach Tim Ford talked about his development & how it has prepared Miller. “ During the last 12-18 months he’s worked his butt off, and you can see the progression he was making. He stayed in the lab with us and figured out the dedication he needed to have to really expand his game. And now everyone can see what we were seeing, a top 25 kid in country!”

He has catapulted his summer program to an undefeated Adidas Gold record, earning them a spot on the 3SSB platform for the championships the 1st NCAA Live session in July. The 6’10 forward’s supreme skill set has been on full display, drawing comparisons to Alabama standout Brandon Miller. Coming off of a Round Rock GASO championship victory, and heading into the TABC event in Dallas this weekend, the eyes of Texas & the nation, will be upon him, pun intended.
