Being well coached at the HS level is very important at the collegiate level. Kids that can come in who can understand concepts and have already been coached a certain way, and held to a certain standard, typically have earlier success at the next level. Atascocita’s Kaleb Pouncy definitely fits this description.
6’7 Kaleb Pouncy (Atascocita HS)
Kaleb is a rangy, athletic forward who can defend multiple positions. Runs the floor, is active on the glass, and a very good passer. He’s currently ranked 20th in our class of 2022 rankings, & the 7th ranked unsigned senior. Spent the previous summers playing for a Fam Elite, where he played the 3-5 position. Has played for David Martinez in that Atascocita HS program so he’s been taught how to play the game the right way. Averaging 14.3 ppg, 6.7 rpg, & 2.2 blocks for one of the best teams in the greater Houston area, in one of the toughest districts in the city. When he’s locked in, he’s a game changer for his team. Has an extremely high ceiling. Received an offer from Weatherford College today on his campus visit. His recruitment will pick up during Atascocita’s run during the upcoming playoffs.
