OTR Exposure Unsigned Series- Amani Drummond

The unsigned series is about identifying seniors who can play at the next level in some capacity. The smaller private schools don’t get the same love as bigger private schools in the greater Houston area, & we’re going to start shedding light on some players from these schools starting with one of the better perimeter players in TAPPS.

6’1 G Amani Drummond (The Village School)

Amani is quietly having one of the better campaigns of any guard in the senior class. He spent his 1st 3 years of HS playing at Dulles, before transferring to The Village this season, and being named captain right before the start of the season. He’s filling the stat sheet with numbers like, 20.4 PPG, 5.2 rpg, 3.1 apg & shooting 36% from 3. He’s a scoring point guard who can get to the rim and finish, very skilled, has great savvy and understands how to play the game. He excels in finding his teammates for easy baskets and is also very active defensively with his quick hands. He’s had several big games this year including a 36 point performance vs Kinkaid. He scored 27 points, knocking down six 3’s in a game vs Westbury Christian. He has the ability to take over a game. Extremely confident kid. I was thoroughly impressed with his motor and skill set. One of the top players in TAPPS. He also currently has a 4.0 in the classroom, which makes him very intriguing for “high academic” schools.
