OTR Exposure DFW Fall Shootout Prospects

There was no shortage of talent last weekend in Dallas as some of the top players in the country were on display at Pinkston High School. Here are some of the prospects that caught my attention.

‘24 6’8 G Dink Pate (Pinkston HS)– Has more tools than Home Depot. Length, athleticism, & skill. A gifted passer who has a really good feel for the game. Hit a 28 foot 3 to win at the buzzer vs Good Vision Academy. One of the most talented players in America. A very special talent. Has already had several of the top head coaches in the country making the trip to west Dallas.

‘24 6’8 F Kuol Atak (Haltom HS)– Long, pick and pop wing, stretch 4. Looked good coming off of pin downs & curls. Also scored out of the mid post, maybe that’s where he’s most effective. Shot over the top of smaller defenders and knocked down 3’s when bigger one’s gave him space.

‘25 5’10 PG Desmeon “NuNu” Jones (Pinkston HS)– Lightening quick, has so much “bop”in his game. No one can stay in front of him as he can get to any spot on the floor off of the bounce. Better scorer than I thought, good feel.

‘23 6’3 G Max N’Diyae (Spring Creek Academy)- Lefty, very good off the bounce. Good IQ, combo, attacks close outs very well. Can score it at a high level. Division 1 level guard. Son of former North Carolina star, Makhtar N’Diyae.

‘25 6’3 G Kayden “Bugg” Edwards (Duncanville HS)– When he’s on, he’s hotter than a seatbelt buckle in the sun! Long armed lefty who can shoot the leather off of the ball. Supreme confidence allows him to take and make tough shots. Will be counted on to be a big time scorer for the 4 time state champs.

24 G 6’6 Ben Price (WT White HS)– Athletic long wing who’s head was at the rim on several dunks. Plays the passing lanes, excellent defender who can guard everyone on the floor. Good rebounder, is becoming better with the ball in his hands. Has a chance to be a high level wing if he continues develop his handle.

‘24 6’8 F Isaiah Kalala (WT White HS)– Great on the glass, can switch out on balls screens and keep smaller guards in front of him. Runs the floor hard & is an athletic finisher inside. Superior motor. Love his energy & how hard he plays.

‘23 6’O PG Evan Phelps (Duncanville HS)– Quick and skilled, Phelps is a bonafide leader. Floor general who plays with pace, can make 3’s and will pick up and defend 84 feet. Has been coached up & has a winning pedigree.

‘23 PG 6’4 Roman Rolle (South Lake Carroll HS)– Really loved his poise and decision making playing on the ball. Every possession down the floor he executed in the flow of the game. Played off the transition drag screen very effectively. Got into the pockets off the defense for pullups, for corner 3 kick outs, or hitting the roll man. Good size and feel at the position.

’26 G 6’4 Trae Nunn (Waxahachie HS)– Has a STRAP! Really shot the ball well in his 2nd game, his ability to spread the floor is his best attribute. You can’t go under on screens on him, his handle and ability to use P&R helps him get separation to get his shot off. He’s also a really good passer, his strong body allows him to play through bumps. One of the top freshmen in the state of Texas.

’24 F 6’6 Josh Olutayo (Good Vision Academy)– Athletic physical specimen inside. A monster on the glass who is an elite offensive rebounder. He has an infectious energy and plays with a hybrid motor. Looks to dunk everything and has a nice left shoulder jump hook.

‘24 G 6’4 Rashad Simpson (Pinkston HS)– Good sized wing who shot the ball well extremely well from 3. Liked his athleticism, he caught two top dunks and rebounded the ball well in traffic. Really spaces the floor with his range, will get plenty of shot opportunities with the penetration of Pate and NuNu Jones.
