EYBL Session I Day 2 Texas Standouts

Day 2 of Session I was very similar to the 1st day as the Texas 17’s again went 3-1. A couple of new faces had big games yesterday and some of the 16’s stepped up in majors ways. Here are some of the standouts.

6’7 Jeremiah Cooper (Houston Hoops)– Loved his activity on the interior. Gave his team second chance points in critical moments of double overtime. Good rim protector as well. He and teammate LJ Andrews did a good job owning the glass in the in vs Indy Gym Rats.

6’1 Michael Collins (Houston Hoops)– Made some really good decisions down the stretch of the game. Is always on attack, and put pressure on defenders with the way he constantly gets in the paint. Finished with 17 points in the win and was the catalyst.

6’6 Domorae Pritchett (JL3)– Gave his team a spark off the bench with his energy and scoring. Scored 6 straight, and was also active on the glass. Used his length to impact both ends of the floor. Scored 15 points and grabbed 5 boards in the win.

6’2 Jeremiah Green (ProSkills)– Was more aggressive offensively on Day 2. Skilled lead guard who has become an efficient playmaker. Uses his size and physicality to get to his spots. Finished with 10 points in 22 minutes.

6’7 Amari Reed (Proskills)– High level finisher in the paint. When describing his game, I sound like a broken record, plays with the passion and energy, every possession. Challenges every shot and goes after every rebound. Low scoring output for his team but he was a bright spot, scored 11 points in the loss.

6’10 Jaden Toombs (Drive Nation)- Showed why he’s one of the top 40 players in the country. Another big performance, 17 points and 7 boards. Has been impressive scoring on the low block and the way he’s rebounding the ball. Love how he’s trending.

6’4 Leroy Kelly IV (Drive Nation)– With his size and playmaking ability, he looked like a HM prospect yesterday. So affective attacking closets and dribble drive action. Scored 13 points, 6-9 from the field & had 3 assists in the win.

6’6 Shelton Henderson (JL3)- Shelton Henderson has played like one of the best 25 players in America this weekend. Obvious physical gifts, but his playmaking and shot making ability has gone through the roof. You can see the work he’s putting in. Went 11-13 from the field en route to a 25 point explosion in a win.

6’7 Austin Brown (JL3 16’s)– The 1st thing I noticed was the improvement of his body. Has been in the weight room & his play also shows this. Attacks the rim and plays through contact. Versatility is his calling card, can play the 2-4. Scored 18 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in a win vs Team Thad.

6’5 Trae Nunn (ISO Joe 16’s)– Big, physical guard, who’s tough to defend. Can score it on every level, and gets to the free throw line a ton. Doesn’t force the issue offensively, skill + size = mismatch nightmare. Finished with 19 points and 8 boards in a win vs Team Thad.

6’4 Jacob Williford (JL3 16’s)– Has been very consistent this weekend with his play. Confident scorer who plays on & off the ball. Gets separation with his length to create his scoring opportunities. Extremely efficient yesterday, going 11-16 in two games. Averaging 14.5 PPG.
