OTR Exposure Austin Fall Shootout Standouts

The CenTex area is still an untapped market when it comes to recruiting. There were several players who performed well and I was impressed with how hard and how well these teams played unselfish basketball. Here are some of the standouts from the event:

‘24 6’5 G Jojo Moore (Rouse)- Starting to turn the corner as a playmaker. Is always under control when he’s attacking the paint, which is rare for kids with his athletic ability and physical make up. Underrated passer & is the leader of his team. Has continued his solid play from back in June when I saw him at the TABC scholastic event. A solid MM prospect right now.

‘23 6’1 G Cole Andrews-Heitz (Rouse HS)– Went crazy in the 1st game scoring 22 points, knocking down 6 3’s! Shoots it with range and understands how to get open & use screens. Has a good body and has enough of a handle to keep the defense honest. Exceptional student, Ivy League level player.

‘23 6’2 G Jayden Barrs (Manor HS)– Scored 19 points in his second game, including 3 threes. Love his toughness, athleticism, and willingness to guard! Plays with passion and energy. Has an official visit to Lamar soon. Bonafide Division 1 prospect.

‘24 6’4 F Kailand Johnson (Manor HS)- Rugged inside face up forward who attacked off the dribble for baskets inside. Plays extremely hard & is a tireless rebounder. Will be counted on for his toughness and willingness to the dirty work.

‘23 6’5 G Mason Emerson (Brentwood Christian)– Did all of the little things for his team. Defended well, grabbed offensive rebounds, and hit key shots. Also scored it from the perimeter well. Averaged 15 points for the weekend, scoring 12 in the 1st game and 18 in the 2nd.

‘23 6’6 Levi Rutledge (Brentwood Christian HS)– Showed his phenomenal passing skills, which adds to his offensive package. He has improved his all handling and will counted on to be the primary ball handler for his team. With his size and length is an intriguing prospect that can also guard multiple positions.

6’6 ‘24 Jared Robins (Round Rock McNeil HS)– Scored 19 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in his 1st game today. He can really shoot it, good passer, pick & pop threat who also scored it well in the mid post. Very solid prospect. Will keep an eye on his progress, with some added strength could be a MM+ kid.

6’5 ‘25 Mekhai Bryant (Pflugerville Connally HS)– Long, bouncy wing with elite athleticism. Caught several lob dunks and transition dunks that were Sports Center Top 10 worthy. Good shot blocker and showed his versatility grabbing birds and leading the break. Once he tightens his handle & release on jumper, the sky is the limit.

6’0 ‘23 PG Josh Hollis (Good Vision Academy)
– Came up big for Good Vision today, scoring 11 points and 7 assists in the win vs McNeil HS. Facilitated and was in playmaker mode all weekend as his team was a little shorthanded. Made the right reads in P&R down the stretch in the 2nd game win.

6’3 ‘25 Brian Phelps (Pflugerville Connally HS)
– Athletic scorer who can get a basket in a variety of ways. Plays with effort on both ends of the floor. Really good in transition and is a good finisher through contact. Has a tremendous upside.
