Day 2 Christmas Crossover Standouts

Day 2 of the Christmas Crossover had no shortage of talent, here are the performers that stood out.

‘24 PG Qasim Boyd (Dickinson HS)- Has taken a big step in his game, becoming the focal point on offense for Dickinson. Following a run of successful guards, he looks to be the next one. Scored 23 points in a 76-55 win vs St. Francis Episcopal.

‘23 F Zyon Little (Dickson HS)- Took over the 2nd half of the game scoring 19 points with athletic finishes in the paint. One of the top unsigned seniors in the area, he finished with 21 points and a team high 6 rebounds.

‘25 F Christian Hodge (St. Francis Episcopal)- With Nigel Walls being out, Hodge stepped up and recorded a 13 point 15 rebound, double-double. Even against the bigger, more physical Dickinson team, he did more than hold his own. His confidence is much improved.

‘25 Pg Christian Jones (PSAT)- Had his breakout performance of the season in a big win vs iSchool. Went 3-5 from 3 in route to a 15 point, 3 assists & 2 steals game.

‘24 PG Sam Cole (PSAT)- Was a spark plug for his team, especially in the 2nd half. Scored on a 4 point play that started a 12-3 run in the 3rd quarter. Scored 15 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.

‘23 F Matt Reed (iSchool)- Was imprecise in the 1st half scoring around the rim with a myriad of moves inside. He couldn’t be stopped on the offensive glass, grabbing 6 of them. Finished with 12 points and 7 boards.

‘24 G Braeden Pitts (iSchool)- First time getting a look at him, and he is a big time shooter. Shoots it with range and doesn’t need much space to get his shot off. Went 4-9 from 3 en route to 12 points.

‘23 F Ethan Blackmon (iSchool)- Was a MONSTER on the glass, 15 rebound and NINE offensive ones. Carried his team in the 2nd half with his activity.

‘25 G Jason Scott (Westbury Christian HS)- Hobbled a tad by an ankle injury, still managed to score 19 points and block 3 shots. Was aggressive getting to the basket, going 11-14 from the free throw line.

‘23 G Jaylen Trimmer (Westbury Christian HS)- Knocked down some key jumpers for his team, scoring 12 points. Led his team in assists with 4 assists.

‘23 F Justin Scott (Westbury Christian HS)- Good all around game for the senior, 12 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 blocks, going 8-8 from the FT line. Was a steadying force in the close contest.

‘24 PG Justin Begg (Houston Episcopal)- Has been arguably one of the most productive players in the 2024 class in Houston. And the game against BTPA was the same old song for him. To the tune of 27 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals and 3 blocks in the loss.

‘23 F Deng Akok (BTPA)- Showed his versatility on both days, averaging 19 points and 8 rebounds. In Saturday’s game he took over, 21 points, 8 boards and 4 assists in the win.

‘23 G Jakobe Dykes (Shaun Dumas Academy)- Caught absolute fire in the game vs JL Swish. Going 11-18 from the field, including 7-12 from 3 to finish with 29 points and 8 rebounds. Excited to watch him play in the SWAIC next month.

‘23 G Jesse Fuller (Concordia Lutheran)- One of his best all around games of the season. Scored 16 points, grabbed 6 boards and dished out 3 assists. Was more of a playmaker and facilitator in this game.

‘24 G Jace Jeffries (Concordia Lutheran)- scored 14 points and attacked the game offensively and looked very good doing it. Is starting to become more assertive, will be a key piece down the stretch in district play.
