Coach Pete Camps: Academic Elite Camp Southeast

Academic Elite Southeast – Oglethorpe University – Atlanta, GA

There was tons of talent on display in the peach state, here are some of the camp standouts.

 

6’0” Franklin Bailey (Alpharetta, GA – Chattahoochee HS, 2020) – One of the top performers from camp, Bailey definitely finds a way to get buckets! He shot 44% from 3-point range, making a camp high 17 3s. Also a very effective defender, he picked up 9 steals on the weekend. Any college programs looking for a scorer should take a look at this young man. Franklin gets it done in the classroom with a 3.0 GPA.

 

 

6’1” Ryan Brewer (Cumming, GA – Denmark HS, 2022) – One of the younger players in camp, Brewer made his presence felt on the defensive end as he had 7 steals on the weekend. He is strong and made some nice plays, with several great assists and smart decisions. He also showed an ability to knock down shots. This Sophomore will continue to get better. Ryan has a 3.7 GPA.

 

 

6’1” Colby Cummings (Jacksonville, FL – Stanton College Prep, 2020) – This young man from Jacksonville, FL was all over the court during camp. He hustles and played solid defense, picking up 5 steals and a block. He also made an effort in the rebounding department as he out-rebounded several other taller players. He also takes care of his business in the classroom with a 3.64 GPA.

 

 

6’1” Justin Edmondson (Snellville, GA – Archer HS, 2020) – Edmondson played some strong defense during camp, picking up 12 steals on the weekend. He’s a strong player and made some nice plays including several well timed assists. He definitely finishes strong at the rim with either hand and can make plays above the rim. He’s someone college coaches are going to want to take a look at.

 

 

5’7” Jaylin Houlder (Loganville, GA – Covington Academy, 2022) – Another younger player, Houlder had some very nice players during camp, including several well executed floaters and some great assists. He’s only a Sophomore and still has some growing to do, but he is only going to improve as he continues his high school career. Jaylin has a 3.2 GPA.

 

 

6’2” Bryce Johnson (Orlando, FL – Lake Nona HS, 2021) – Another player that had an all around great camp, Johnson knows how to play the game and shoots it well. He knocked down 11 3s during camp showing his range and overall strong offensive game. This player took care of the ball with a 7:2 assist-to-turnover ratio. He has a lot of upside and is a player that college coaches should be taking a look at. He is setup for a strong Junior season. Bryce has a 3.3. GPA.

6’5” Kameron Little (Fountain Inn, SC – Legacy Early College, 2021) – One of the most athletic players in camp, Little definitely didn’t play little. He makes plays above the rim and has monter upside. He’s able to finish and pick up rebounds (26 during camp). This is a player college coaches should have their eyes on. Kameron is another player that gets it done on the court and in the classroom.

 

 

6’3” Benjamin Raspberry (Douglasville, GA – New Manchester HS, 2020) – Raspberry took care of business during camp shooting 67% on the weekend. He consistently made mid range shots, attacked the rim, and finished strong. He also had a strong defensive performance with 13 steals and 30 rebounds. This is another player college coaches should take an interest in. Benjamin has a 3.2 GPA.

 

 

6’0” Aidan Saeed (Athens, GA – Athens Academy, 2022) – Just a Sophomore, Saeed showed a nice performance on the defensive end stealing several passes. He also had some outstanding assists, finding the open man and showing good court vision. This young man is going to improve. He has a nice shooting stroke as well. Aidan has a 3.8 GPA.

 

 

6’5” Alex Walters (Atlanta, GA – Lovett HS, 2021) – Walters has a TON of upside. Not only can he rebound the ball, but he showed an ability to hit the outside shot. Alex also had some very nice assists, consistently hitting the open man. He was also able to finish at the rim with either hand. If his shot continues to improve his shot, college coaches might want to take a look. Another high academic player with great grades.

 

 

5’11” Dia Williams (Dunwoody, GA – Dunwoody HS, 2021) – Williams showed an ability to finish at the rim and pull down rebounds during camp. He definitely showed some upside and as a Junior he should only get better. He’s quick and at times he was difficult for other players to guard off the dribble. He also hustled all over the floor. Williams has a 3.0 GPA.
