Reviews with Rob (Madison vs Sharpstown 2/5/2019)

It was senior night as Madison and Sharpstown clashed in a battle for playoff position. Madison started off hot led by uber athletic unsigned senior Ronald Harleston and his back court mate unsigned senior Kevon Green. They combined to score the games first eight points, and put pressure on the Apollos with their pressing defense. Madison ended the first quarter leading 21-16. In the second quarter Josh Farmer (OTRExposure’s #1 rated prospect in class of 2021) came out with vengeance hitting a flurry of buckets from all three levels, he would end the half scoring ten points. Timely baskets by top rated junior Tim Moore Jr. and unsigned senior Kylon Bryant had the Marlins keeping the Apollos at bay with a halftime score of 41-25. In the third quarter Moore and Harleston decided to have their own dunk contest, throwing down some spectacular dunks. Josh Farmer tried valiantly to carry the Apollos finishing the game with a strong twenty points and solidifying his top ranking in the city. On this night however, the Marlins were just too much, winning with a score of 72-59. Madison had five players in double figures, Kevon Green sixteen points and six assists, Ronald Harleston fifteen points and six rebounds, Tim Moore Jr. fifteen points and twelve rebounds, Kylon Bryant ten points and ten rebounds, and Zion Edwards ten points and three assist. This win keeps Madison in contention for the district 23 5A title along with Northside and almost assuredly closes the door on any playoff hopes for Sharpstown. Congrats to both teams for a hard fought well played game.
