Pangos Fresh/Soph State/National Evaluations

Again, the talent at the Pangos Frehsman/Sophomore camp in Dallas this past weekend was unbelievable. It’s impossible to see all of the talent. I try to evaluate kids that I can see play at least twice in a camp setting like this. I’m sure I missed some kids that other services saw.. here are the evaluations:

6’1 Devon Barnes( The Lawton Christian School, Lawton OK, 2021)- Really high motor, energy. Was all over the court making plays on both ends of the floor. Strong, fast, & aggressive. Very unselfish player who looked to get everyone involved. Finished in traffic with both hands. Earned Top 30 all star game invite.

6’8 Arthur Kaluma- (Universal Academy, Dallas, TX 2021)– Was in his bag all camp. Played with great energy! Showed the ability to be a wing at the next level. I was impressed with ability to take guys off the bounce. Outplayed Jerrell Colbert in a head to head match up, was really good in ISO situations. Definitely can see him on the perimeter and he can play a small ball 4. Camp CO-MVP

6’6 KJ Adams- (Westlake HS, Austin, TX, 2021)– Physical specimen who used his power & strength to get to the rim for some athletic dunks. Showed he knock down some 3’s, shot about 35% from 3 at the camp in the games I watched. Uses his speed to push the ball in transition. Was a bully from the wing, attacking guys and putting them in the rim. Camp CO-MVP

6’7 Collin Smith- (St. Marks School, Dallas, TX, 2022)– Long, super skilled wing. Can mix it up inside and outside. Is putting on muscle, and his game is showing it. Shot the ball from the perimeter, & he can guard multiple position. Led the break, and finished the break this weekend. Earned Top 30 All Star game invite

6’7 Harrison Ingram- (St. Marks School, Dallas, TX 2021)– Starting to show his athleticism, went baseline a couple of times and took off on some bigger guys. Unique skill package, more physically opposing than his HS teammate Smith. Played with a chip on his shoulder in a match up vs KJ Adams. Really high ceiling. Earned Top 30 All star game invite

6’3 Nick Smith- (Sylvan Hills, Sherwood, AR, 2022)– Long, skinny guard who is about a BUCKET! Can get to it in a hurry. Second time seeing him on a stage like this one. His scoring always travels. Scored on all 3 levels, hit big 3’s, and he’s really crafty. Really long wing span. Earned Top 30 All star game invite

6’1 Juan Reyna- (Antonian, San Antonio, TX, 2021)– Shot the leather off of the ball. Maybe the best catch shoot player at the camp. Unlimited range. Has a good enough handle to create a little separation, & is a decent play maker. Has a major heater!

6’0 Austin Nunez- (Randolph, San Antonio, TX, 2022)– Improved his game. Can now create separation against bigger guards. Plays with an edge and a little scowl on his face. Great motor, plays on both end of the floor. HM jump shot. Scored at a high clip on both days. Earned Top 60 All star game invite

5’10 Landry Harris- (Edmond North, Edmond, OK, 2021)– Gritty, tough, picked up full court. One of the hardest playing guys at the camp. Has a big time shot. Plays the right way, moved the ball, to the open guy. Finished inside over bigger guys, and got out on the break. Has a solid handle too.

6’3 Keyonte George- (Lewisville, Lewisville, TX, 2022)– A complete joke he didn’t make the USA trials. Kid is the real deal. Good size, great skill set, and is surprisingly athletic. He was Hoopin Hoopin, and did it effortlessly. Elite handle, and used it to get wherever he wanted on the court. Was the #1 guard at the camp. No debate. Earned Top 30 All star game invite

6’6 Jordan Walsh- (Faith Family, Cedar Hill, TX, 2022)– Super skilled long wing, who played with a chip on shoulder. Attacked the basket for dunks, and was getting it to it from the top of the key. Loves to ISO guys there and finish them with a dunk. Tight handle, and nice jumper. Would like to see him take more pride in guarding the ball and dominating the game on the defensive end. Ceiling is higher than Jerry’s World. Earned Top 30 All star game invite

6’5 Tre White- (Little Elm, Little Elm, TX, 2022)- A bright star in the talented 2022 sky in Dallas. Big guard who scored with his strength and his finesse. Shot it really well from the perimeter. Passed the ball really well, was more of a play maker here than at Lucas when he was more of a scorer. Also had some really athletic dunks. Big time dude. Earned Top 30 All star game invite

6’8 David Dixon- (Briercrest, Memphis, TX 2021)– Grabbed every rebound he could. Really athletic and raw. Shot blocker, and dunks everything, or at least tries to. Scored well inside, and has a high motor. One camp game he had 16 rebounds. Elite rim runner. Earned Top 30 All star game invite

6’10 Lee Dort- (Bethany Christian, Plano, TX, 2022)– He might end up as one of the top interior players in the country in his class. Relentless inside player, understands how to post up and get positioning inside for easy baskets. Really athletic, high motor, and dominated both sides of floor. Is a MONSTER inside! Earned Top 30 All star game invite

6’5 Tre Alexander- (Central, Tulsa, Ok, 2021)– Athletic, scorer, shooter. Intrigued with his activity. Rebounded well, dived on the court for loose balls. A big time utility player. Does a little bit of everything. Earned Top 30 All star game invite

6’7 Mason Miller- (Houston, Memphis, TN, 2021)– Scored in a variety of ways. High IQ kid, had several great passes for easy baskets. Also has an extremely high motor. Great finisher inside, and stepped out to hit several 3’s. Caught 2-3 balls off the rim for dunks. Plays extremely hard! Earned Top 30 All star game invite
