Greater Houston Area Recap of Pangos South FR/SO Camp

My 1st Pangos camp experience and I can say it was a great one and really good, competitive atmosphere, what I noticed right away was the elite level size of the 2021 & 2022 kids. Great collection of kids put together by Dinos Trigonis and his staff. Like always, I will focus on the Houston kids 1st, then the state/national guys.

6’1 Chris Marshall (Marshall HS,2022)- Was really good all weekend, Exploded for 30 points in his last game of the day Saturday night. Quick, strong, physical PG that attacked the basket hard both days. Played some nice two man game with Jerrell Colbert, needs to work on consistently hitting his long ball. Earned a Top 30 all star game invite.

6’2 Latrell Moore- (Willowridge HS, 2021)– High flying athlete who had several nice dunks, and alley oops. High energy, plays with a passion and motor. Caught a body this weekend too. THRIVES in transition. Needs to continue to work on his perimeter game. Earned a Top 30 all star game invite

6’8 Josh Farmer- (Sharpstown HS, 2021)– Came into camp a bit of an unknown outside of Houston. Opened many eyes with his play, looked like a young TMAC. Has a great handle and feel, created for himself and teammates. Hit some 3’s, and showed he can go by smaller quicker players. If he continues to refine and polish his game, has a chance to be a HM player. Earned a Top 30 all star game invite.

6’2 Johnathan Massie- (Atascocita HS, 2021)– Played well enough to earn to an invite to one of the all star games. He continued his great play this weekend, competed on both ends of the floor. Is starting to finish in traffic & through contact due to added strength. He earned his stripes this weekend.

6’9 Jerrell Colbert- (Texas Christian HS, 2021)– Had his moments where he looked like a top 10 player in his class nationally, then he had moments where he went back to the Jerrell that doesn’t compete every play. I will always give him tough love because I think he has a chance to make it. Needs to play with intense effort AT ALL TIMES. Earned a Top 30 all star game invite.

6’11 Sam Ayomide- (Texas Christian HS, 2022)– Big Sam was a monster inside, finishing everything around the basket with a dunk. Loves the way he challenges every shot. Has a collegiate body, imposed his will this weekend. Ducked in the paint hard and showed better hands than I’ve seen previously. Earned a Top 30 all star game invite.

6’10 Adam Stewart- (Waller HS, 2022)- Sometimes he looks like a young bambi, legs and arms going everywhere. But he knows who and what he is, stays in the paint, & works hard at getting good positioning for easy scores and rebounds. Faced other more athletic, physically further along players & held his own. He always shows up to play and doesn’t complain. Has a soft tough around the basket. Earned a Top 60 all star game invite.

6’10 Mo Ngom- (Texas Christian HS, 2022)– The other bookend big of the Texas Christian HS front court. Ran the floor like a deer, it was hard for him because he didn’t get many touches on the low post, but when he did get it, he was very effective. Elite level shot blocker, needs to work on his hands. Earned Top 60 all star game invite.

6’3 Chris Felix- (Hightower HS, 2021)– Scored well the 1st day, and rebounded the ball well as always. Might be the best rebounding guard in the class. Wasn’t as aggressive as I would have liked him to be. When he did get the ball, was extremely efficient. Still making strides offensively to make plays in ISO situations at a high level.

6’1 David Martinez- (Atascocita HS, 2022)– Put on a show Friday night and was cooking. Showed his improved handle, and had some nice assists. Hit four 3’s in the game, and had some razzle dazzle with his jab series footwork. Has more “wiggle” in his game than people think. Confident scorer. Had a really good 2 days.

6’5 Brian Perry- (Sharpstown HS, 2021)– Did all of the dirty work for his team. Scored in transition, rebounded the ball well, & defended. Got a lot of deflections, and played the passing lanes. Also had a couple of nice put back dunks, and had a couple of breaks with some nice above the rim finishes. Really athletic, high motor kid.

6’2 Ryan Moore- (Cy Ranch HS, 2022)- Hit at least one 3 in every game, played the right way, moved the ball & passed to the open guy. Also showed the ability to get in the paint to find his teammates for shots. Was a pest defensively.

6’3 Hudson Boyd- (College Park HS, 2022)– Had some nice games during camp. Always plays hard, mixed it up inside, and knocked down some open jumpers in route to a 16 point game when I watched him.
