All “Super 16” teams

1ST TEAM ALL “SUPER 16”

1.2019 Ja’Mere Redus/ Ja’Mare Redus (Eisenhower HS)– if I had an “All Goon Team” they would have made that list too. Experienced guard play will always be the difference & these two have played more minutes than any set of teammates in the city. Relentless, tough, closers. Willed their team to the title.

2. 2019 Nick Gazelas (Atascocita HS)– shot the leather off of the ball, big shot maker, & took at least 3 charges PER GAME! Played outstanding. Was the difference in the Concordia Lutheran game.

3. 2019 Marlon Jackson (Sam Houston HS)– has to become the leader of his team, started out slowly but picked it up on Saturday & Sunday. Was all over the glass, loved his activity. Hit a game winning layup as time expired vs Yates.

4. 2020 Deuce Guidry (Dickinson HS)- was in his bag all weekend. Hit 3’s, got to the rim & finished in traffic. Down the stretch of games, he carried his team. He will have a breakout season.

5. 2019 Donovan Williams (Elkins HS)– you can tell he’s ready for the big stage now. Takes all the big shots for his team, had the “Durant package” working. Just rose up & knocked down shots over smaller defenders. Is a totally different player than he was a year ago.

2nd team
  1. 2020 Dylan Dawson (Atascocita HS)– I’ve been saying this now about him all fall.. he’s starting to turn the corner on his potential. Helped lead Atascocita to the championship game. His feel for the game is improving more & more.
  2. 2019 Kharee McDaniel (Klein Forrest HS)– played with the proverbial chip on his shoulder. Took it personal in every match up he had, & was on “GO” in the parking lot.
  3. 2020 Isaiah Leblanc (Ridgepoint HS)– cooked with the fresh grease all weekend. Was a flat out bucket, had games of 35, 22, & 25. Is going to put his team on his back this season.
  4. 2020 Antwon Norman (Yates HS)– a savage, he was flying through the air with the greatest of ease. He was EVERYWHERE, in the passing lanes, on the rim, trapping the ball.. Is the engine of the Yates full court press.
  5. 2020 Tramon Mark (Dickinson HS)– I was critical of him during this summer because I expected more out of him. This fall he’s lived up to the lofty expectations I have of him. Played under control, hit his mid range jumper, & moved the ball well.
All breakout team
  1. 2019 Kevin Baker (Sam Houston HS)– played with a ton of energy, finished plays inside, was a spark for Sam Houston. Is going to be their glue guy this season.
  2. 2021 Johnathan Massie (Atascocita HS)– did a lot of things well, & has really come into his own. Looked comfortable attacking the baskets, & knocked down some big 3’s in the semifinal game against Concordia Lutheran.
  3. 2019 Christyon Eugene (Spring HS)– could have put him on the 1st or 2nd team. LOVED the way he plays. Did everything well, has shown his name belongs with some of the best in the city.
  4. 2021 RJ Keene (Concordia Lutheran HS)– has a flame thrower & some swag to him. Averaged 15 ppg. Will play a Robin role in the back court for CL.
  5. 2021 Javier Francis (Westbury Christian HS)– Handled himself really well in a match up vs Nate Clover. Shot blocker, rebounder, & rim runner right now, he will have a breakout season for Westbury Christian.
