Houston, TX-
The 2027 class in Houston is one of the best in the country. There have been sevral players who have performed well who are under the radar and will see a bump in their rankings soon.
6’3 Jeremiah Okpamen (Elkins HS)– Starting last season he took on the role as a leader for Elkins, and this season he’s starting to turn it up even more. He’s comfortable creating off the bounce, knocking down open shots, and has shown the ability to stretch the floor (including a game with 100% three-point accuracy and a 40%+ 3-point rate on the season). Defensively he brings consistent energy, competes on the ball, and makes winning plays on both ends. As his body continues to develop and his playmaking and shooting volume grow, his versatility and feel project him as a dependable combo guard with next-level upside.
6’2 Daniel “DT” Green (Shadow Creek HS)– Daniel is a developing junior combo guard with solid length and high-level competitiveness at Shadow Creek. He’s one of the most experienced players on a young team, plays with pace, attacks the closeout and looks to create offense for himself and others. He’s shown the ability to make winning plays in tight games and competes on both ends as a ball-handler and on-ball defender.
5’11 Tyson Forrest (College Park HS)– Has been one of the hottest prospects in Houston this season stepping into to the alpha dog at his school. A poised, control point guard who runs the pace for College Park with high basketball IQ and confident handling. He has shown the ability to take over games, including multiple 40+ point scoring nights this season, and is comfortable pulling up, finishing in traffic, or creating in transition. Notably, he’s had explosive scoring outbursts (e.g., 42, 43, & 51-point games showing elite scoring ability in clutch moments).
6’4 Maddox Davis (Kinkaid HS)– A long, athletic wing with a complete scoring package. He gets downhill in transition, attacks mismatches, and finishes above the rim for volume buckets. He consistently impacts the glass, runs the floor, and defends multiple positions thanks to his size and instincts. Davis is a force on both ends with strength, length, and ball skill. He rebounds like a big wing and can score from mid-range, at rim, and in catch-and-shoot spots. His all-around game and statistical production make him one of the more dynamic two-way juniors in the area.
6’7 Sam Walker (North Shore HS)– Plays with a ferocity that you don’t see in today’s high school game. An athletic freak who wants to dunk everything and intimidate his opponents. A physical forward with size and activity on the boards for North Shore. He shows good timing on the glass and finishes well around the rim, giving his team toughness inside. He’s also capable of rim protection and uses his frame to defend multiple spots. Walker runs the floor, rebounds hard, and draws contact around the bucket. As he adds strength and polish to his offensive game, particularly face-up scoring and consistency at the rim, he projects as a reliable frontcourt contributor with a physical edge.
