SWAIC Session II 1/24 Player Evals

Game 5 : Marian 78 EOP White 57

Lamonte Butler 6’5 JR G B-

16PTS 7REBS 6ASSTS 3STLS

Lamonte is an athletic two way tweener (guard/forward) who impacted the game every possession he was on the court tonight. The 6’5 JR is great in transition creating driving lanes that lead to explosive finishes and also set ups for teammates. In just 16 minutes Lamonte filled up the stat sheet scoring (16pts) assisting (6 asts) rebounding (7rbs) and even getting multiple steals (3stls). His versatility was impressive being able to play the combo guard and also moving to the wing for multiple possessions. Lamonte can improve on his conditioning to compliment his active motor which did get him winded at times. He can also improve on his off hand to create driving lanes. Overall a great showing for Lamonte.

JB Burgos 6’1 SR G C

14 PTS (4/5 3PT) 2 ASST

JB was lights out shooting the basketball today. The 6’1 SR has great mechanics and his shots were from well beyond the arch. JB can improve his ball handling since he will more than likely be asked to play lead guard at the next level and not just a spot shooter. As far as shooting the ball goes he’s the text book example of a knock down shooter.

Game 6 XAVIER PREP 73 BTPA 52

Jackson Seastrunk 6’6 G/F A Montana Wheeler 5’11 PG A

Jackson Seastrunk 28PTS 5REBS 2ASSTS 2STLS Montana Wheeler 22PTS 10ASSTS 5STLS

Jackson dominated the game from start to finish with his high motor, athleticism, and relentlessness. In a very up-tempo basketball game, Jackson was never sped up and completely dominated inside out. He has a smooth jump shot to compliment his outstanding leaping ability. Jackson is also an excellent on ball defender. He was able to get on ball and passing lame steals that lead to electric transition finishes. Extremely impressed with his him.

Montana showed again why he was not only the best player on the floor but the best player in the SWAIC. He completely dominated the game with his on ball defense that ignited his team with energy from the opening tip off. Montana finished the game with 5 STLS to go a long with 10 assists. He is the definition of a 1 man press break and was a nightmare for BTPA. Montana displayed an array of different finishes around the rim and also getting to his sweet spot on pull up jumpers. His combination of speed and conditioning is something any coach would love to have at their lead guard position. An excellent game from both of these guys.
